How to read the result
Extra revenue shows the change in gross sales with the same number of sessions. Extra contribution margin accounts for net AOV and the margin percentage left after variable costs.
The calculator shows a scenario with unchanged traffic, AOV, tax, and contribution margin. The real effect depends on traffic quality, devices, offer, seasonality, measurement method, and the changes implemented. The result is not a guarantee of growth.
Scenario comparison
Scenarios are not benchmarks or recommendations; they only help compare variants.
| Scenario | CVR | Orders | Extra orders | Extra revenue | Extra margin |
|---|
How we calculate
Extra orders = sessions × (target CVR − current CVR) Net AOV = gross AOV / (1 + tax rate) Extra margin per month = extra orders × net AOV × contribution margin
Example calculation
With 100,000 sessions per month, a CVR increase from 1.6% to 1.9% means 300 extra orders. At an AOV of $250, that is $75,000 in extra gross revenue. At a 20% tax rate and a 30% contribution margin, extra margin comes to roughly $18,750 per month.
FAQ
What is ecommerce conversion rate?
It is the percentage of store sessions that end in an order. If 1,000 sessions generate 20 orders, the conversion rate is 2%.
What is the difference between percentage points and relative growth?
A change from 1.6% to 1.9% is a 0.3 percentage-point increase. Relative to the starting value, that is an 18.75% increase in CVR.
Does the calculator predict actual CRO results?
No. It shows the financial effect of the scenario you choose. Reaching the target CVR depends on your data, store issues, changes implemented, and traffic quality.
What margin should I enter?
Enter your contribution margin before advertising: the percentage of net revenue left after product cost, shipping, payment fees, fulfillment, returns, and other variable costs. You can calculate it with the Asttero margin calculator.
Does the calculator assume traffic growth?
No. Session volume stays constant, so the result shows only the impact of the conversion-rate change.
